Cardamom, Cinnamon & Honey: The Spices Behind Our Lattes

The aromatics that define our signatures, and how to taste them.

The short answer

Cardamom, cinnamon and honey are the three aromatics behind our signature lattes. Cardamom brings a cool, floral spice, cinnamon adds warmth and gentle sweetness, and honey rounds it all with a soft, mellow finish. Together they give drinks like our cardamom honey latte their distinctive, not-too-sweet character.

The spices behind our signatures

Our most loved drinks are built on three aromatics that have flavoured Arabian coffee and sweets for centuries. They are not add-ons. They are the reason a Qahwtea latte tastes like ours and no one else's, warm and aromatic without ever being cloying.

How to taste them

Tasting is a skill you can practise. Take a small sip, let it sit, and notice the order in which the flavours arrive. Cardamom usually shows first as a cool, almost minty lift. Cinnamon follows with warmth. Honey lingers last, smoothing the finish.

  • Cardamom: cool, floral, faintly citrus, a green and aromatic top note.
  • Cinnamon: warm, woody and softly sweet, a comforting middle.
  • Honey: round, mellow and floral, a gentle sweetness that lingers.

Where to find them on our menu

These three define our cardamom honey latte, and cardamom threads through our Arabic coffee and Adeni tea as well. Our Qahwtea latte leans on warm spices and is deliberately not too sweet, a balance these aromatics make possible.

Frequently asked

Is the cardamom honey latte very sweet?
No. It is built to be balanced. The honey adds a soft, round sweetness rather than a sugary one, and the cardamom keeps it bright and aromatic.
What kind of cardamom is used in Arabic coffee?
Green cardamom is the classic choice. It has a cool, floral, slightly citrus aroma that pairs naturally with lightly roasted coffee.
Can I order these spices without coffee?
Yes. These aromatics also appear in our spiced teas, so you can enjoy the same warmth without the coffee. Ask our team in the cafe.
